Non-commercial Samples:


These shipments require the following :

1. Six copies of invoice (in the prescribed format, duly stamped & signed on each copy

full description of shipment
declaration that shipment is of "no commercial value" and "no foreign exchange is involved"
declaration stating the shipments has samples and mentioning nominal or notional value of the contents

Non-commercial Freight


a. These shipments require the following

1. Six copies of Invoice (in the prescribed format,duely stamped & signed on each copy)

full description of shipment
declaration that shipment is of "no commercial value" and "no foreign exchange is involved"
declaration that shipment contains samples.

2. Packing list.
3. If the value is :

Above 5000/ : Letter from the Bank/ RBI endorsement (on the Invoice- called a GR waiver endorsement) / or a letter from RBI stating that GR waiver may be obtained by customs.
Bellow 5000/- No endorsement required.

Scenario 1 : Goods of Indian origin exported out of India; re-imported for repairs and re-exported after repairs

3. GR waiver from RBI/banker
4. Chartered engineers’ certificate

Export promotion (EP) copy of shipping bill
Custom attested invoice, packing list and airwaybill/ bill of landing

6. Documentary evidence of re-import

Triplicate copy of BOE (Bill of entry)
Customs attested invoice. Packing list and airwaybill

7. Letter addressed to the assistant commissioner of customs – exports department, stating the brief details of formal exports and re-import for repairs. It should also state a request to customs to grant GR waiver and for releasing the shipment
8. Warranty agreement document.

Scenario 2 : Goods of foreign origin imported into India; re-exported for rrepairs.

1. Six copies of Invoice (in the prescribed format,duely stamped & signed on each copy)

full description of shipment
declaration that shipment is of "no commercial value" and "no foreign exchange is involved"

2. Packing List.
3. GR waiver from RBI/banker

Undertaking (on the GR form ) by the shipper stationg that the shipper would bring the goods back into India within 1 month from the date of closure of the exhibition event.

4. Invitation to participate in the exhibition from the organisers/TFAI(Trade Fair Authority of India) approval.
